Premier’s Teacher Scholarships

Applications are invited from teachers in Government, Catholic or Independent Schools and TAFE NSW Institutes across New South Wales for the 2014 Premier's Teacher Scholarships to undertake a five week study tour in one of the available scholarship categories.

Generous sponsorship from various supporters means the scholarships now encompass English, youth depression awareness, creativity and innovation, leadership, new and emerging technologies, financial literacy, special education support teachers (vision and hearing), health education, early childhood, contemporary Asian art, visual arts, Chinese language, history and vocational education for school and TAFE teachers.

All school teachers and TAFE NSW teachers should plan for their study tours to occur between the period from the 1st of January 2015 up until the 30 June 2015.

One (1) scholarship of $15,000 will be awarded to a teacher in a school or a TAFE NSW Institute to study information and communication technologies. Application package.

Up to two (2) scholarships of $15,000 depending on the originality of the projects will be awarded for Head Teachers Student Welfare, teachers and school counsellors teaching students at risk of youth depression in schools and TAFE NSW Institutes. Application package.

One (1) scholarship of $10,000 will be awarded to support a special education teacher in a school or TAFE NSW Institute. Application package.

Applications for the NSW Premier's Teachers Scholarships closed on Friday 2 May 2014. Assistance is available to help applicants prepare an application for a Premier's Teacher Scholarship. Teachers can register their interest via My PL@Edu Course Code 151SPS011. This DEC course is registered professional development under the terms of the NSW Institute of Teachers Continuing Professional Development policy. For teachers accredited at Professional Competence, completion of this course will contribute 7 hours towards Institute Registered professional development. This course will address the following Professional Teaching Standards 1.2.2; 6.2.1; 6.2.7; 7.2.4.
