Parent Awareness Campaign

The "It Makes You Think" parent awareness campaign is now underway.

The "It Makes You Think" campaign promotes the benefits of participating in early childhood education via the interactive website

Ninety per cent of a child's brain development occurs in the first five years of a child's life making it a critical window for early education.

This campaign is designed to get parents thinking about the importance of early childhood education and considering enrolling their child for at least 600 hours in the year before starting school.

Early childhood education prepares children for school by supporting their social, cognitive and emotional development – all skills that they need to be able to learn.

When children have had early childhood education, they're more likely to have a strong start at school and academic and social success throughout their lives.

The NSW Government is committed to ensuring all children in NSW are able to access 600 hours (15 hours per week) of quality early childhood education in the year before school, which is why we are further investing in early education through the Start Strong reforms.
