A range of funding is available to support the provision of quality early childhood education in NSW.
In late 2008, the Commonwealth and all Australian states and territories signed a National Partnership Agreement on Early Childhood Education. This partnership commits all Australian governments to achieving universal access to early childhood education programs for all children in the year before school, delivered by university qualified early childhood teachers, for 15 hours a week, 40 weeks a year.
The NSW Government has developed a number of funding projects as part of a plan to increase the participation of children in quality early childhood education. The projects respond to the findings of the Review of NSW Government Funding for Early Childhood Education.
