TAFE NSW launches student video competition

TAFE NSW students and those doing TAFE-delivered vocational education and training courses at school (TVET) are invited to show the world how they imagine by creating a 40-80 second video.

Entries can be made in any style using devices such as DSLR, camcorders, mobile phones or computer cameras and uploaded to the TAFE Clips YouTube channel.

David Riordan, relieving deputy director-general, TAFE and community education, said:

"An estimated 9.9 million Australians use social networking sites and, with more than half a million TAFE NSW students, it makes sense our students are internet savvy digital citizens and their video clips will showcase this talent".

Prizes will be awarded in two categories - industry awards judged by a panel of experts and people's choice awards determined through online peer voting.

The competition closes on 31 October and the winners will be announced on 29 November 2011.

Watch entries on YouTube or the competition's website, which also has details about the prizes on offer.
