Students take up Premier’s Sporting Challenge

11 June 2014

A record number of students - almost 300,000 from 1270 schools - have signed up for this year's NSW Premier's Sporting Challenge.

The challenge supports children in making regular exercise a habit by asking them to log any physical activity they undertake over a 10-week period.

At the launch Premier Mike Baird said he hoped students would realise for themselves that playing sport or exercising is fun, promotes teamwork, is good for their health and improves learning in the classroom.

The Challenge is funded by the NSW Government in partnership with NRL One Community, Sydney Markets Fresh for Kids and Teachers Mutual Bank.
