Student artists lift spirits of sick youngsters

Fifty works by students from Kindergarten to Year 10 are hanging in the Art Gallery of NSW for a month before touring regional galleries next year.

The works will then be displayed at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

Opening the 19th annual Operation Art, an initiative of the hospital and NSW Department of Education and Communities, which received nearly 900 entries this year, Health Minister Jillian Skinner said it was wonderful to see talented young artists giving inspiration and joy to young people in hospital.
