Schools win enviro research grants

Fifty NSW schools have won Food Gardens in Schools grants worth $3,500 each, and 46 have won Eco Schools grants worth $2,500 each.

The food grants teach about land management, waste re-use, water conservation and other environmental issues, while the eco grants support projects such as rainwater harvesting and planting native flora.

The grants were announced by the NSW Environment Minister Rob Stokes in the latest $2.4 million round of Environmental Trust Grants, which also support government and community environment projects, and environmental research.
