NSW public school enrolments rise

NSW public school enrolments have increased again this year.

The department's February data reveals 4,870 extra students enrolled in NSW public schools in 2011.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics' most recent Schools Australia 2010 report has also confirmed NSW is the only state in Australia where the public education system has maintained its market share.

NSW public schools are seeing a year-on-year increase in enrolments, with more and more parents in NSW choosing public schools for their children.
