NSW Premier’s Awards - nominations open

NSW public school teacher Mardi Croke was last year presented with the Premier's Award for Individual Excellence and Achievement after being nominated by one of her students.

A teacher at Jerrabomberra Public School, Ms Croke developed a successful parent support program for families of children with special needs.

The 2013 awards are open and Premier Barry O'Farrell is urging members of the community to nominate a local teacher, nurse or police offers for the annual Premier's Awards for Public Service.

"This is an opportunity to recognise notable achievements and contributions of individuals and organisations that deliver public services to NSW businesses and the community," Mr O'Farrell said.

"It's important we honour those individuals who work hard every day to deliver the services people across NSW rely on."

Nominations are open for the following Premier's Awards:

Premier's Award for Individual Excellence and Achievement - recognises public sector employees who have provided exceptional levels of customer service and innovation in delivering results for individuals, business and/or the community
