Fashion comes to town

Some of TAFE NSW Sydney Institute's star graduates will help celebrate its 120-year history next month.

Notable ambassadors, fashion designers Alex Perry, Nicky Zimmerman, Akira Isogawa and Dion Lee will contribute to the celebratory event at Sydney Town Hall on 9 November.  Fashion parades will showcase their designs along with the work of more than 200 students.

As the finale to the year's anniversary celebrations, the event promises a night of entertainment with six different parades of fashion and costume, stunning animations and music by the Stiff Gins, one of Australia's best-known and most loved Indigenous acts.

Helping reconstruct Samoa

The gala event will raise funds for the charity Groundswell, an organisation set up to help support reconstruction of areas of Samoa devastated during the 2009 tsunami.

Tickets are on sale now through moshtix, with prices ranging from $35 (plus booking fees) for the show only, to $135 (plus booking fees) for dinner and the show (tables of 10 available for $1250 plus booking fees).

Tickets are available online, by phone on 1300 GET TIX (438 849), on your mobile at, and at all moshtix outlets.
