New school site for Northern Sydney

2 July 2015

The NSW Department of Education has bought TAFE Northern Sydney Institute's Crows Nest Campus in an exchange that will benefit hundreds of local families and TAFE NSW students.

Minister for Education Adrian Piccoli announced the exchange with Minister for Skills John Barilaro today.

"Demand for public education is strong in Northern Sydney, and the NSW Government is responding," Mr Piccoli said.

"This year Cammeraygal High School opened on the former Bradfield College site as a comprehensive high school catering for students up to and including Year 10.

"The Crows Nest site will allow the school to grow and cater for enrolments in Years 11 and 12.

"The new arrangement will continue the proud history of the site as a place of excellence in public education and training."

Mr Barilaro said that the proceeds from the exchange will be invested in upgrading three nearby TAFE NSW campuses to world-class standards to accommodate the transition of students and staff from the site.

"The investment in Northern Sydney Institute's campuses will enhance its capacity to cater to the needs of students and industry, enabling them to equip students with the skills needed to support the jobs of the future," he said.
