Mark Scott's Update

07 September 2017

Respect. Reflect. Reset.

Our 2017 People Matter Employee Survey results are now available. This year nearly 31,000 staff in the department (almost 40% of staff) responded to the survey. What an amazing effort and I thank everyone who took part.

This annual survey is an important measure about how we are travelling as an organisation, how you feel about working here and how we can improve our organisational culture and processes.

I'm pleased that our department is exceeding in all key domains surveyed. Our overall engagement score is 67%, above the public sector average of 65%. For more information about our results visit the Human Resources (staff only) webpage.

I'd also like to let you know about an important campaign the department is taking part in to reduce workplace bullying and create a more positive and productive workplace.

The Respect. Reflect. Reset campaign is running across the public sector. It's important that all employees reflect on their behaviour and take ownership for the role they play in creating a positive workplace. The purpose of the campaign is to reframe the way we think about our individual contributions to our workplace and encourage us all to:

  • Respect your role, each other, and our organisation's values and code of conduct
  • Reflect on how your behaviour contributes to an inclusive, positive, productive  workplace
  • Reset your mindset and step into a positive frame.

This is my personal invitation for you to participate in building a stronger culture of inclusiveness and respect.

For more information visit the Respect. Reflect. Reset. webpage.
