Complex Trauma in Childhood and Adolescence

This two-day workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the nature, assessment and treatment of "complex trauma" in children and adolescents, where this term refers to the experience of physical, sexual or psychological abuse, emotional neglect or abandonment, or exposure to violence at home or in the community. The workshop will:

  • review the immediate and long-term consequences of trauma, abuse and neglect in childhood

  • explore the comprehensive assessment of trauma-related behavioural, emotional and interpersonal consequences

  • demonstrate the design and implementation of effective interventions for traumatised children and adolescents.
