Institute Director, TAFE NSW – Western Sydney Institute (Ref No 67563)

It plays a critical role in meeting the NSW Government's social and economic priorities, ensuring that NSW has a highly skilled workforce to support NSW's competitive performance in the global economy.  This role is a key leadership role reporting to the Managing Director TAFE NSW, and will help to shape the future of TAFE NSW as the provider of choice in vocational education and training.

 

The Western Sydney Institute covers a geographic area extending from Parramatta to the Blue Mountains, delivering around 800 courses across seven colleges as well as delivering distance education from a specialist facility, the Open Training Education Network (OTEN), which serves the wider economies of NSW and Australia.

The Institute Director will lead the continuing development of the Institute as a unique and dynamic vocational education and training provider, delivering services essential to the economic and social development needs of the Region.

The remuneration for this role is at a Public Service senior executive Band 2 level and is located in Western Sydney. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $259,851 to $299,750 per annum and employment up to 23 February 2017 will be negotiated.

TAFE New England Institute serves 14 Local Government areas in North West NSW, offering more than 460 courses across 11 campuses.  The Institute has a reputation for innovative methods, including web-based learning and flexible delivery options, to deliver VET to sparsely populated areas to meet the demands of a diverse training market.

The Institute Director will lead the continuing development of the Institute as a unique and dynamic vocational education and training provider, delivering services essential to the economic and social development needs of the Region.

The remuneration for this role is at a Public Service senior executive Band 2 level and is located in New England/North West Region NSW. An attractive remuneration package within the range of $238,301 to $259,850 per annum and employment up to 23 February 2017 will be negotiated.

The role will develop and oversee a rigorous, coherent and integrated strategic planning and performance monitoring process, as well as driving innovation in policy planning and performance, strengthening the sustainability of the TAFE Institutes, and contributing to the strategic direction and leadership of TAFE NSW through expert policy advice and effective operational planning.
